THE TOUR
The citywave® pro World Tour unites the best citywave® surfers in the first worldwide competition series. Tour stops take place at selected citywave locations around the globe.
The CPWT started in 2019 with contests in Israel (Hadera), Austria (Vienna), Switzerland (Zurich) and Japan (Tokyo) and continued in 2020 with the citywave pro France, before a compulsory break due to Covid-19. By then, the prime championship series had been joined by over 150 athletes from 16 nationalities.
In 2022, the tour finally continued with the last stop in Germany (Regensburg).
The international field of participants is divided up into five categories:
Open Men
Open Women
Juniors Boys/Girls (<16)
Masters (>40)
Athletes compete for cash prizes and points towards the international championship ranking.

The citywave® pro World Tour aims to give visibility to the fast-growing global community of stationary wave surfers. The new surf variety is on the verge of establishing itself as a discipline with a large worldwide fanbase. The CPWT is raising the skill-level in the still young sport, it’s producing it’s first stars and the contest format is connecting the international community. This will further boost the profile of this sport at a historic juncture for surfing, given that it has just become an official Olympic sport at the Tokyo 2021 Summer Games.
